Were we created or did we evolve?

Did you know that the biggest issue in this debate is not the evidence itself but how we look at that evidence!

The evidence around us is the same for everyone but what is different are the beliefs we already hold to when we look at the evidence (we look at it through different glasses). The difference is in the way we interpret the evidence.

For example how we answer the question of whether we believe there is a God who could create will have a big impact on how we interpret the evidence that is around us.

When people argue about the evidence, in reality they are arguing about their interpretations based on their presuppositions! It is not simply a discussion about facts.

We believe that if you accept the idea that there could be a God who could create out of nothing then the facts around happily tie in with this set of beliefs. The evidence around us is consistent with believing in a God who creates - the evidence does not contradict this belief at all.

We also believe that if you have already decided that a God who creates does not exist then you obviously will not think creation is a correct explanation of how the universe came to exist.

So the main question where the debate should be is about whether a God who can create exists or not.

Having said all that we also think that if you believe in evolution there are a number of areas where the evidence around us does not fit in with the evoltion theory - three of these we have listed below...

1. How can nothing "explode" and produce everything?

2. How did non-living things produce living things?

3. How do you explain the great lack of transitional forms in the fossil record?
